To avoid corn you must also avoid corn products such as corn on the cob,
popcorn, corn chips, corn tortillas, cornstarch, corn syrup, high fructose
corn syrup, corn meal, and corn oil.

To help you with corn substitutes here are some suggestions:

potato starch:
Substitute the same amount of potato starch for corn starch.

tapioca starch:
When a
recipe calls for small amounts of corn starch, you can use one and a
half times the amount of tapioca starch.

arrowroot starch:
When a
recipe calls for small amounts of corn starch, you can use one and a
half times the amount of arrowroot starch.
|
|
For a salty snack eat potato chips, sweet potato chips,
or taro chips as an alternative to corn chips.
|
|
Use millet or millet meal instead of corn meal.
|
|
Instead of popcorn break up rice cakes and drizzle on
melted butter and sprinkle with sea salt. |
