Intuition’s Role in Romance and Relationships
Real story: How Godiva chocolate led me to closure I didn’t know I needed – and why your intuition sometimes uses carrots, not logic.
The Story: “Godiva Chocolate – Barnes & Noble”
When you learn to connect to your Divine Mind, it will talk to you about everything – including romance and relationships.
One day I was meditating and I clearly heard, “Godiva chocolate.”
Now, I love chocolate, but I hadn’t been able to eat chocolate for years because it made me sick. My food intolerances were very strong. So when I heard chocolate, I perked up.
“Chocolate? Where?” I asked.
I heard, “Barnes & Noble.”
My kids were with their dad that day, so I had some free time. I thought, okay, I’ll go. I drove to Barnes & Noble.
I knew the Godiva chocolate was at one end of the store by the checkout, but as I was about to park near that entrance, my intuition said, “Don’t park here, park at the other side.”
It made no sense at all. Why would I park at the opposite end from the chocolate? But I have learned to follow, even when it doesn’t make sense.
So I parked at the far end and walked in.
And as I walked in the door, who was walking out but someone I had been in a relationship with where we never had closure. It had been hanging on my heart for a long time.
We looked at each other, smiled, and ended up sitting down for tea. We finally had the conversation we needed to have. I finally felt complete. Peaceful. Done.
After he left, I sat there and asked my intuition, “So… now can I have the chocolate?”
The answer was a clear, loving, “No.”
What This Teaches Us About Intuition and Relationships
Sometimes carrots won’t get you to go where you need to go – but Godiva chocolate will.
Your Divine Mind knows what your heart needs to heal, even when your logical mind has given up on getting closure. It knows:
- When it’s time to heal an old relationship – even if you thought you were over it
- How to get you there – it will use what delights you, what motivates you, to get you to move
- What is really for your highest good – it wasn’t about the chocolate at all. It was about completion, so I could move forward with an open heart.
Your intuition doesn’t always speak in grand spiritual messages. Sometimes it says “yellow,” sometimes it says “turn left,” and sometimes it says “Godiva chocolate at Barnes & Noble.”
Your job is to listen and follow, even when it seems silly.
How to Use Your Intuition in Romance and Relationships
1. Ask about closure: “Is there any relationship that still needs healing or completion for my highest good?”
2. Ask about current relationships: “What does this relationship need from me today? What do I need to understand?”
3. Pay attention to the carrots: What are you suddenly craving or hearing about? Chocolate, a bookstore, a certain street? Follow it.
4. Ask about love from a place of wholeness: Instead of “When will I find love?” try “What would help me feel more whole and connected today, so I can love fully?”
Needing clarity about a relationship?
Whether it’s closure from the past, guidance for a current relationship, or preparing your heart for what’s next, your Divine Mind knows the way.
