The Story: “Today Is The Day To Go Look For a House”

When you learn to connect to your intuition, you can use it in every area of your life – including buying a house.

At the time, I was in a rental with my three teenagers. I wanted to buy a house, but in my mind I didn’t want to move until June. It was January in Michigan – cold, snowy, and definitely not house-hunting season. Logically, it made no sense to look yet.

One day in meditation I clearly heard, “Monica, today is the day to go look for a house.”

I argued back. “It’s too early! It’s January! I don’t want to move until June!”

But I heard again, firm and loving: “Go print the school district map and start driving.”

So I did. I printed the Walled Lake school district map and started driving around. It was cold. I was grabbing flyers from those little boxes in front of houses for sale.

At one house, the flyer box was empty. I was tired, cold, and ready to quit. I said, “Forget it,” and started to pull away from the curb.

As I started to drive, it felt like someone put their foot on my brake. I physically felt the car pause, and I heard, “Get back there and write down the phone number.”

So I got out, wrote down the number from the For Sale sign, and called.

That house – which had looked small from the outside – was actually large. Large enough for my three children and a home office. And here’s the amazing part: the owners wanted to close in March but let me stay in the rental? No – they wanted to close in March and let ME stay until June. They wanted to close now but didn’t need to move until June – which was exactly when I needed to move.

Everything – the house, the timing, the joy – worked out perfectly. Because I listened.

Why Intuition Matters When Buying a House

Buying a house is one of the biggest decisions you will make. Your realtor can show you square footage and school districts, but your Divine Mind knows:

• If the energy of the home is right for you and your family
• If the timing is aligned – even if the calendar says it’s too early or too late
• What your children need that you haven’t thought of yet
• What is happening behind the scenes with the sellers that makes it perfect for both of you

Your logical mind says, “Look at the numbers.” Your Divine Mind says, “This is the one. Here’s why.”

When you learn to listen, you stop feeling anxious and rushed. You feel guided.

How to Use Your Intuition to Buy a House

1. Ask before you look: “Is today a good day to look? What area wants me to drive through?”
2. Pay attention to the nudges: A flyer box that is empty, a brake that feels like it’s being pressed, a street you are guided to turn down – these are not accidents.
3. Ask about the house itself: When you walk in, pause and ask, “Is this house good for me and my family? Is this for our highest good?” Notice if your body feels expansive or tight.
4. Ask about timing: “When is the right time to make an offer? What does this house need to close?” Sometimes the timing is the miracle, not just the house.
